I have a love for geometric shapes and abstract constructions, even if this is not immediately apparent from my figurative painting style. The geometric shapes are hidden in the composition scheme. I often try to emphasize certain composition lines. In this painting I wanted to create a clear triangular composition.

The painting is based on a photo from my family album. It is a memory that stares at me, but which I can no longer vividly recall. I hope that the viewer (along with me) continues to search for what exactly is going on here. It is a painting about childhood memories and the reconstruction of them.
